The stage of the experience is Akigawa Valley in Akiruno City, Tokyo. This area is the gateway to Okutama, where JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station is located. Akigawa Valley is full of natural beauty where you can experience the history of the earth. This time, let's examine the many types of stones and rocks on the riverbed and experience the romance of the earth!
The Earth is called a ``rocky planet'' and is truly a planet made of rocks and stones. Therefore, knowing rocks is directly connected to knowing the earth. The teacher is part of a team that is actively engaged in environmental activities on the Tokyo side, and this rock specimen making project has a track record of being featured on an educational TV program.
Parents and children are welcome to participate in an exploratory experience where they learn about the Earth through rock specimen making and also try their hand at starting a fire and sharpening stones, set in the mountain streams and riverbeds of Mt. Tokyo. -
It has been featured on NHK Education's nature program, and is perfect for children's exploratory learning.
Set on the riverbed of the Akigawa River, you will search for various rocks, learn the stories behind each one, and create your own rock specimen.
