WATERFALL meditation experience

Day 1
Take the cable car to Mount Mitake and check into the temple lodging. After receiving an explanation from the priest, head to the waterfall for the purification ritual.
Experience the waterfall ritual at Ayahiro Falls, about 40 minutes into the mountains. The experienced priest will guide you through the experience, ensuring a safe and enriching time.
After the ritual, return to the temple lodging for a traditional vegetarian meal.
In the evening, experience meditation under the guidance of the priest. This meditation is considered to be a prototype of Zen and mindfulness practices.
Day 2
Early in the morning, visit Musashi-Mitake Shrine for a morning prayer. Feel the spirit of Mount Mitake that breathes through daily prayers.
Afterward, visit the Oku-no-In, which is the main sanctuary of mountain worship. This is a special place not included in the usual course.
After the visit, descend to the priest's village and have lunch at the Yamaka-so along the way.
This is also one of the historic temple lodgings on Mount Mitake, where you can view antique furnishings.
After lunch, descend by cable car and conclude the tour at Mitake Station.

・"Oshi" refers to practitioners of mountain faith who settle on the mountain to assist and guide worshippers.
・Mountain faith involves viewing the mountain itself as a sacred object and using it to purify oneself. Therefore, the mountain is carefully preserved and passed down to future generations. This practice is based on sustainable living.
・This experience tour includes waterfall purification and meditation training under the direct guidance of the Oshi. These practices are considered the roots of modern Zen and mindfulness.
・Accommodation is provided at a temple lodging run by the Oshi.
・The tour includes visits to Musashi-Mitake Shrine, the sacred Oku-no-In, and hidden spots such as the ancient secret festival site of Tai-sen, which are often missed by the average visitor. The guide will provide insight into these lesser-known attractions.
