Started consulting & advisory services for the development of adventure travel for inbound travelers and solving regional issues

Japan has been ranked first in the world travel and tourism competitiveness rankings, and it is expected that there will be a record 33.1 million visitors to Japan in 2024. In this context, Tokyo Yamagata DMC Co., Ltd. has started offering new options for adventure travel aimed at inbound travelers (such as guide training programs and tour development) as well as consulting and advisory services that contribute to solving local community issues.

In this project, we will promote the resolution of community issues and regional revitalization centered around "Adventure Travel" and "Exploratory Nature Experience Learning Schools." Through the development of programs utilizing Japan's rich nature and culture, we will strengthen cooperative relationships with local communities and contribute to the development of the adventure travel industry across Japan.

Currently, the Tokyo Yamagawa DMC has developed and is selling a tour focused on the mountain worship of Mount Mitake and the culture of the priests, titled "A Tour Exploring the Continuing Culture of the Priests and the Mountain Worship of Mount Mitake." This tour allows participants to rediscover the hidden cultural charms of Mount Mitake, guided appropriately by Tokyo Yamagawa guides who hold international qualifications for inbound travelers visiting Japan.

Furthermore, the "Inquiry-Based Nature Experience Learning School" attracts approximately 20,000 families annually to the Tokyo mountain area. Through the program, we are working on initiatives that transform local challenges into business opportunities. We enhance the value of the region's nature and culture, contributing to the local economy.

Through this new initiative, we aim to promote further growth in Japan's adventure travel market and provide wonderful experiences for both domestic and international travelers. By collaborating with local communities, facing challenges, and seeking solutions, we will contribute to sustainable regional revitalization.
